Is the Roux En Y surgery safe with Celiac Disease?

I originally wanted the sleeve gastrectomy but insurance will not cover it. I have been approved for the proximal gastric byp (Roux En Y) but I have Celiac Disease so I have a few concerns. My bariatric surgeon told me the surgery is a great choice with Celiac Disease but I wanted to get a few more opinions.
