Making fish fat?

I have tropical fish, I would like for them to grow bigger! I have had them for over a year and they aren't growing. I feed them everyother day with flake food. I sometimes mix it up with frozen brine shrimp. I have about 11 fish in a 55 gal tank, there is plenty of room for them to grow!
