Could i play a tenor saxophone?

Hi ryt i play the Alto Saxophone and i am now a grade 5 at it, after 5 years i thought i would be higher but its good anyway, but i want to play other pieces that i can only get on a tenor saxophone, so if i get a Tenor saxophone could i play it, i know all the things i need, reed sling i am not that dumb but is it the same note or what, if you can help please tell me the problems with this
