Boyfriend and I talking more seriously about our lives together am I thinking marriage for the right reasons?

This does not sound like a good situation. It seems like his life is a bit chaotic and you may be just an afterthought even though he loves you. It does not seem like a great time for marriage or a baby. It is never a good time for a baby unless you are positive that financially you are capable. It is understandable your concern with your "ticking clock". If you can take care of a child, why not just ask him to father your child? Many women do this the same as artificial insemination and other such practices. Having a child does not have to come after a fairy tale love story. If that is what you want, figure out how to make it happen. It does not seem like you want a marriage as much as a child.
